CMU – where are we now? Addressing Europe’s shortage of risk capital 

AFME members were invited to join a Members’ Briefing Call on Thursday 23 March at 15.00 (GMT), 16.00 (CET) to discuss progress on the CMU project and how Europe’s shortage of risk capital for high-growth businesses can be addressed.

On the call, Robert van Geffen, Director in the policy team at AFME gave a brief overview of AFME’s full response to the CMU mid-term review and outline expected next steps. Cédric Pacheco, Manager in the Capital Markets Division, will then outline AFME’s recent growth work, including key highlights from AFME’s latest report The Shortage of Risk Capital for Europe’s High Growth Businesses and Allen Simpson, Head of Public Policy at Barclays Corporate Banking and Chair of the AFME SME Working Group, discussed the European small business finance funding escalator, the most pressing gaps and some policy recommendations.
