How does Coronavirus impact AFME's events?

AFME is closely monitoring developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and will continue to assess the situation, including taking account of advice from the World Health Organisation and other relevant guidance.

At this current time, all events up until May have either been rescheduled, or cancelled to protect the welfare of our attendees. Please check individual event micro sites for details. In light of the current environment we have updated a number of our terms and conditions to make sure we are being as flexible as possible.

The safety of our delegates is very important to us, therefore measures are being implemented at all AFME Events to prevent the spread of communicable diseases (please see below):

  • Hand sanitiser will be available at registration desks and throughout the venues
  • Increased disinfection of high traffic areas
  • Dedicated isolation area if someone onsite becomes unwell
  • All speaker microphones will be regularly sanitised throughout the duration of the event

Guidance for attendees:

If you are sick or are displaying any of the symptoms identified by public authorities, please do not attend.  In addition, we ask you to not attend an event if:
  • You have travelled to/from/through mainland China or a region in ‘’lockdown’’ in the past 14 days.
  • You have been in close contact with someone who recently travelled to/from mainland China or a region in ‘’lockdown’’ in the last 14 days. Close contact is defined as living with or being with a family member or friend for extended periods of time.
  • You have been in close contact with someone who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis
Please visit the World Health Organisation for more information about affected countries https://www.who.int/

If you have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected]
