AFME and zeb Consulting have published the report “The Mobilisation of Capital in Germany – Three questions around private investments.”
The analysis shows that Germany faces a triple challenge: a significant investment backlog, an underdeveloped start-up and scale-up ecosystem, and an ageing pension system. At the same time, households hold substantial unused savings in low‑yield accounts.
The report underlines a clear message: Germany’s economic resilience and competitiveness can be boosted by establishing and utilising deeper and more integrated capital markets – driven jointly by policymakers, the financial sector and society.
