2025 Update:
AFME continues to be committed to the Women in Finance Charter and in improving gender balance across all hierarchies of the organisation.
Specifically with regards to our pledge to work towards a 30% female representation at senior management level, we have achieved our three-year growth target, increasing representation from 22% to 25% in 2022, from 25% to 35% in 2023 and from 35% to 44% in 2024. In 2025 we have maintained this increased level of representation at 44%. This has been sustained through a concerted effort in multiple areas e.g. increased focus on individual growth and development, increased training provision, the continued focus on equal opportunities in our recruitment processes e.g. blind CVs.
Building on this achievement, we have increased our target to 40% female representation in senior management roles by 30 September 2026. We are confident that this increased level of commitment is sustainable and reflects our dedication to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace across all AFME locations, in London, Brussels, and Frankfurt.
Externally we support the broader efforts of the financial services sector in improving gender balance and in 2025, we have maintained our target of 30% representation of female keynote speakers, moderators, and panellists across our conferences and events.
Events Diversity Pledge
AFME is committed to supporting diversity at our events and has issued a pledge.
‘’Diversity is a core value at AFME. We want to create events that represent the diversity of thought and background of members that we serve, so that everyone feels empowered to bring their full authentic selves to our events. We pledge to create panels that are inclusive, striving to promote the talent that exists across the diversity of people within our industry. We will also seek the same level of commitment from events we support or speak at.’’
If anyone has any specific questions about the pledge, they can contact Joanna Montague, Events Director at [email protected]
