The past year has seen the publication of several major initiatives (Eurogroup, Noyer, Letta, Draghi) each of them stressing the need to amplify efforts to grow and deepen EU capital markets. In her mission letter, President Von der Leyen invites Commissioner-designate Albuquerque to ‘develop a European Savings and Investment Union.’

On 19 November 2024, AFME and our partner organisations will publish the 7th edition of the “Capital Markets Union: Key Performance Indicators” report which tracks progress in the development of the EU capital markets ecosystem.

Together with key representatives of EU market participants, this launch event will provide the opportunity to reflect on the main findings of this year’s report, examine structural issues which may be holding back progress and delve into the next Commission’s emerging agenda for a Savings & Investment Union.
