AFME has published a position paper setting out the industry's priorities for the ongoing trilogue negotiations on the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
As policymakers seek to finalise the next phase of the EU sustainable finance framework, AFME's paper highlights key considerations to ensure SFDR delivers transparency for investors while remaining practical, proportionate and aligned with broader EU sustainability legislation.
The recommendations focus on supporting a coherent regulatory framework that promotes sustainable investment, facilitates the transition to a low-carbon economy and avoids unnecessary complexity for financial market participants. SFDR 2.0 negotiations are currently progressing through the EU trilogue process following the publication of negotiating positions by the European Parliament and Council.
